Gibraltar

The Hub of Mediterranean Marine Engineering

Balaena Gibraltar is the operational heart of our Mediterranean activities, delivering high-quality ship repair, refit and engineering services from a strategically placed facility at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea.

With three dry docks including a Panamax-capable dock supported by 1 km of deep-water wharfage (up to 11 m draft at low tide and a tidal range of just 1 m), Balaena Gibraltar is engineered to accommodate a wide spectrum of commercial, offshore, naval and specialist tonnage.

Located on one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes, the yard enables minimal deviation for vessels transiting between the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Gibraltar’s favourable climate, low rainfall, long summers and warm winters allows continuous operations year-round.
