Case Study: Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm
Birkenhead facility served as the base port for the construction of the Gwynt y Môr wind farm, one of the world’s largest offshore wind projects.
Investment to Enable Offshore Wind
£10 million was invested into the site to enhance offshore capabilities, including:
+ Deepened berths for the world’s largest offshore support vessels
+ A heavy-lift quay rated to 5,000 tonnes
+ Upgraded fabrication and assembly facilities
+ Major expansion of logistics and marshalling space

+ 150 m tip height
