A very special evening onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth in Gibraltar

A very special evening onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth in Gibraltar.

Our Group CEO Simon Gillett, Gibraltar MD John Taylor, Operations Director Thomas Hannam and Sales Manager Anthony Mauro Buhagiar were onboard the Royal Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier for a reception, meeting members of the ship’s company and enjoying a fantastic performance from the Royal Marines Band.

With our very own Birkenhead and Tyne shipyards having contributed to her construction, HMS Queen Elizabeth is a remarkable demonstration of the scale, skill and industrial capability we have here in the UK.

As a British-owned maritime engineering group, supporting the Royal Navy is a significant part of what we do. Across our shipyards, we bring together generations of shipbuilding expertise, skilled people and world-class facilities. Retaining and investing in that sovereign industrial capability is vital to the future of British defence.

Gibraltar has been central to British naval operations for centuries, and our dockyard and the team behind it remain an important part of that capability, supporting the Royal Navy in one of the world’s most strategically important maritime locations.

With special thanks to Captain Claire Thompson OBE RN and the ship’s company for their hospitality, it was a real privilege to spend time aboard such a magnificent ship.
