We're delighted to welcome our 2026 apprentice intake to our Tyne yard!
This year, we've welcomed 8 new apprentices, including 3 Welders, 4 Platers and our very first Shipwright Apprentice.
Pictured alongside Managing Director Jeff Jones and Group Training and Apprenticeship Director kevin peart, our apprentices have recently begun their journey with us.
They will spend their first six months at Seta (Sunderland Engineering Training Association Limited) developing their practical skills and knowledge before transitioning to our Tyne yard to continue their training.
For us apprenticeships are more than gaining a qualification. They are about giving people the opportunity to build a trade, a career and a future in British industry.
The North East has a proud shipbuilding heritage, and we're investing in the people who will carry it forward. By giving young people the opportunity to learn from incredibly skilled people and gain hands-on experience, we're helping to develop the next generation of British shipbuilders and engineers.
We wish them all the very best as they begin their careers in the industry!
